MILITARY

SAINT JOAN OF ARC

(AD 1412-1431) A great Military Saint invoked for inner strength, fortitude, love and trust in God.

At age 13, a French peasant girl was chosen by God to accomplish the extraordinary - to save her country.  At age 17, with full trust in God and with no military experience, she brilliantly led the armies to defeat the English invaders, crowned the King and united France under him.  Captured by the enemy, she was falsely tried, convicted, and at age 19, was publicly burnt at the stake for refusing to deny that God had commanded her and that St. Michael and the Saints had counselled her.  A retrial 25 years after her death, later proved her innocent.  Canonized a great Saint in 1920, she is the epitome of moral integrity on and off the battlefield.
"I trust in my Judge, who is the King of Heaven and Earth".

- St. Joan of Arc

Winning the loyalty and trust of the Captains and Knights, she inspired them to be ready for death by observing the highest moral, social, and religious code of Knightly conduct.
“Only men of virtue fight in my army!” - St. Joan of Arc

PROTECTOR OF MILITARY, KNIGHTHOOD & CHIVALRY

Feast Day:  April 23

(AD 275-303)  This illustrious heroic Roman soldier and officer went willingly to his execution for his Christian Faith and for publicly rebuking the Roman Emperor who had ordered the deaths of the early Christians.  St. George is a renowned icon of the triumph of Good over Evil and his intervention is attributed to many historical battlefield victories.

This fearless dragon slayer is the beloved Patron of many countries throughout the world.  Pendants with images of St. George have traditionally been used for protection by Knights and Soldiers going into battle.  Early Crusaders wore plain white tunics with red crosses and carried banners with the same bold CROSS OF ST. GEORGE.

CHIVALRY: The disposition to heroic, generous actions motivated
by the beautiful and good in the moral and intellectual world. Qualities expected of the Knight are especially courage, honour, justice and readiness to help the weak.
